Decisions, decisions...

So now that the house is coming along nicely, I'm down to the wire on color decisions.  The last few weeks  every waking thought is consumed by paint colors, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, oil rubbed bronze, brushed nickel, chrome, tile, cabinets, etc.  I always have somewhat of a dilema when I'm decorating my house: I care very much what it looks like and I see lots of ideas that I like, but when it comes to incorporating them into my own house I always seem to be off a bit.  Good intentions, poor execution.  So I've been trying to pre-plan a lot more this time to keep from re-doing stuff later.  Here are some of the ideas I'm leaning towards:

Kitchen--I love retro kitchens.  Someday I will have my new-but-look-old applicances, like so...
but as I cannot yet justify spending $3,000 on a fridge, they will have to wait.  I've always wanted white cabinets, and I think I may finally have Jim talked into them this time, despite how much he loathes them.  (I think it helped that I mentioned my REAL desire is to have cabinets painted pale mint or pistachio--he realized that white is the lesser evil.)  Here are a couple of my inspiration pics I've found:

I have a serious thing for glass tile backsplashes, but I'm leaning more toward white subway tiles.
We've got some beautiful dark brown/cherry-ish hardwood for the floors, and I love the pale blue walls.  I may base the wall color and mood off this mug I just got at Tai Pan
(You can't quite tell from my mad photo skills, but it's square and awesome.  It even managed to knock my green mini-tea cups off the "favorite cocoa mug" pedestal.)

Main bath--I must be on a blue kick, because I'm thinking of the same color scheme for the main bath.
Inspirations:

I'm trying to talk Jim into those fabulous mini-hex subway tiles for the floor (minus the black flowers in the pattern), but may end up going with the rectangles.  Here's the faucet:

Master Bedroom--Here was our biggest struggle.  My first idea was muted purples and grays, but at the mention of "purple" Jim got a freaked-out look in his eye.  (Are you getting the idea yet that we have completely different decorating tastes?)  So instead I got this quilt at Target

(just the quilt, not the silver bedding) and will accent with various shades of teal and green to match the desk I already have
(doesn't it look stunning with the patterned pink wallpaper in our rental?)
I just don't know what color to do the walls.  Something light and neutral from the brown family or a really light shade of the teal?  Opinions/suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Also, I'm fresh out of ideas for the master bath.  The only thing picked out so far is the faucet and hardware:

If anyone would like to post inspiration for me, I'll be eternally grateful.  I think I need to pick paint and tile this week.

Really, any comments/suggestions/critques would be vastly appreciated!

OK- I wrote this long commentary a couple days ago and it appears it has not posted. Sigh... I will offer my opinion again! ;)

I LOVE white cabinets! I feel like they make a kitchen seem light and airy, even if it's not. I tried to talk Luke into white when we built our Clinton house but he hates them so I gave in. Mint or pistachio might be pushing the retro look a bit too much for my taste but to each her own! :) I also love glass tile backsplashes. I generally veer toward blue or green. Would white cabinets and a white tile backsplash be too much white?? I guess it would depend on the size of the backsplash and the color in the rest of the kitchen.

I enjoy the blue and white color scheme for the bathroom. There's something about blue and white that's sooo relaxing to me. I've seen some really cool bathrooms on HGTV using those white hex tiles. I feel like you should get one of the huge claw foot bathtubs too. I've always wanted one for my house and if you get one I can come over and live vicariously. :)

In the master bedroom, I would paint either a light neutral or 3 walls the neutral (maybe taupe?) and one an accent of teal but that's just me. I tend to be more conservative with wall color. Or you could recreate that pink wallpaper from your rental! It's super awesome!

For your master bath you could just continue the color scheme of the master bed, maybe using something a bit darker or lighter. You could do a darker teal wall with black and white accents. If you want something different than the bedroom, you could use the color wheel and find the colors that would best compliment your bedroom colors.

These are my ideas and opinions. Although, out of all your friends, I'm the last one who should be giving design advice. Like you, I have lots of great ideas but I can never execute them.

how exciting! I love stuff like this, but I am like you I have ideas in my head but I have a hard time putting it all together! I love the second kitchen you have picked out. I am with you, love the white cabinets...it gives your kitchen such a clean crisp look. And I love the cabinets that have the windows in them to display some cute dishes. I like the color (the mug) that you picked out for you kitchen. I love the blue tones...very chic and also calming. I also love the second bathroom picture you have with the blues, the footed tub, and the chandelier gives it a nice touch.
I think your house is going to look great! Also I am going to suggest looking at Sharstin's blog I think just under her decorating tab, she has great style and.her kitchen has the white cabinets and she has it decorated super cute if you need some more ideas:) Good luck!

Thanks for all the comments, guys--they are all taken under consideration. I also love the claw foot tub, but it's too late this time. :-(
